FROM BRIAN ( woodrell@gte.net ) I'm am starting to work on restoring a 77 standard beetle I was wondering if there are there any good books available about restoring beetles? I read you article about undercoating and I was interested if there are any books that have more of that type of insight, tips, etc. also, what is the best manual to buy for 77 beetle? I'm sure there are a few out there. is there any differences between them? Brian
Brian, there are many good books out there to restore your VW.
A classic one is John Muir's book Volkswagen's for Idiots. You can find these books on the internet through amazon.com, by searching for the keyword VW or Volkswagen. As for the undercoating article back in February, we came up with it from experience on working with our own.
You can find some bodywork books and such, but not many helpful tips like that. Thanks for the Inquiry. FROM GILLIAN I am interested in purchasing a brand new Volkswagen Polo 1.4 5-door. I recently read in a Car Magazine that this model is due a face-lift this autumn. Can you give me any more information regarding this please? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you in anticipation. Gillian Johnston

FROM CHEVOTA8@aol.COM I'm having trouble figuring out what year beetle I have it has swing axle ,king pin front, single master reservoir I beleive it is 66 or older, also i'm looking for a wiring diagram for my beetle in color.
From the sounds of it, we really have no idea of what you may have.
There are some good books out there which will help you. I suggest that you visit your local barnes and nobles bookstore. There is a book I have called simply " THE BEETLE ". It has a big red bug on the front of it. It is written by Keith Seume. I think you will enjoy the book, and in the back it has the differences for all of the years, such as door handles, taillights, and more. Give that a try. FROM KERV Is this sight (online magazine) no more? Hope not!!!! Kerv...
