OCT 25 1998 We drove 4 Hours ( me and my girlfriend Julie ) to get to the show. I am from Redding CA, it is our first "REAL" coverage with video, we were also handing out fliers to some people, and a lot of vendors. We were not too impressed with the $10 dollar gate fee per person. Not only this but there was maybe only 70 cars to look at ! This bugged me, but there was some cool people there, and I talked with many people about the magazine and what were doing. There was some cool vw's out there though, quite a few newer Jetta's too. One thing this show was lacking was volume, I had like 100 fliers, and I got a flier out to almost everyone. I saw some cool type2's and bugs. There was 1 really custom 98 Beetle there, look to your right to see it. That was me talking to the guy, handing out fliers. This beetle ( left ) is a pretty hot car, I could not find the owner of it though, because I was thinking about writing an article and making it a "VW of the month" for the november issue. I would have to say that this show could have been better, and I probley won't be attending it next year unless goodtimes motorsports lets us in for free or something. It just coulden't hold my intrest. I am giving this show a rating of a D - even though I should give it an F for the size of it. The VW Community rules, and this show sure shows to me that even if the show is small the people still come.
