HISTORY OF THE OVAL
The car was found in a local shop where
it had been sitting for a few months. The car was very clean and the guy that
owned it was willing to sell it for $2300.Originally, the car came from
Minnesota where it had been stored in a barn for over 20 years when it was found.
There was nearly three inches of dust on it. The first owner removed the car
from the barn, wiped it down, changed the tranny oil and engine oil , added gas
and drove it home. The Guy Tony bought it from then started the restoration in
1987. The body and fenders were very straight and need some minor ding repair.
All body parts ( fenders, door, hood , deck lid, and bumpers ) were all original
. After all body work was completed several coats of black acrylic enamel were
sprayed, color sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The interior work was
restored to it's original condition, recovering the seats and door panels with
the original tomato color vinyl and oatmeal color woven carpet . The headliner
was done in a tan mohair and a rebuilt steering wheel was also used. Two areas
the were untouched were the engine and the transmission. After a two year
semi-restoration the car was shown for two years then stored again for another
eight years in the garage of the guy Tony purchased it from. Tony bought it in may of
1998 and drove it daily until this Sept. When the engine which is in the final
stage of being rebuilt, and the transmission has be upgraded to a fully syncro so
it may be driven daily.

this oval is about perfect.

The Motor is stock, and is detailed very nicely. You dont see
orignal ovals like this one anymore.
