Story: Brock Eastman | Photos: Tony Dipiazza

1968 Doublecab
HISTORY OF THE DOUBLECAB
It came from California where it had been bought new for a family business to haul and drag a trailer. Tony is not real sure but he thinks the restoration of it started in the late 80's. As the story he was told from the guy he bought it from goes- the family got out of the business and a son had taken ownership of the crew cab after many years of good service. Body work and interior were redone in Calif. The color combo was the choice of the owner in California because of his background as a fireman. It was then sold to a guy here in Arizona where he added the chrome wheels new transmission. He also added a 1904cc stroked engine with dual kadrons. About two years ago Tony bought it putting a lot of finishing touches to it. Chrome bumpers , chrome latches on the gates new interior, six speaker 200watt sound system, oak wood strips in the bed, comp-u-fire ignition, braided steel fuel & breather line. It is a very solid truck and looks very sharp. It mainly goes to shows, has won six first places and a promoter's choice.

  • ENGINE: 1904cc
    STEREO: 200 watt
    CARBS: Dual Kadrons
