I have seen many ghia's since my interest in volkwagens many years ago had taken off. You dont see many ghia's like this. Jeff out of Redding California (where I live) owns this one of a kind ghia. From the outside it looks like your average custom ghia, but once you get inside the engine compartment, think again. Jeff works at Wolfgang International part time, and Costco. He has over 8 grand in just the engine alone. Here are the specs below:
Specifics are... trans.= 3.88 r&p stock 1&2 1.48 3rd and .82 fourth, superdiff, steel shift forks, Johnny's heavy axels, and heavy side cover. The new engine= 2110 w/ bugpack crank and rods(5.5) Pauter (welded) heads cam and rockers, straight steel gears, weber 44's w/ welded matchported manifolds, berg linkage, doghouse shroud.
I have always had a thing for porshe alloys, and so does Jeff! He has 16x7" alloys on the rear. Jeff estimates that the car will put out around 165-170 Horsepower with his setup. Jeff will be attending the VW classic this year in Irvine, CA. Look for this on down there. Jeff is a nice guy so dont be afraid to say hi. He does a lot of the tranny and engine work down there at wolfgang international.
